Our home is set on a quaint piece of Door County's shoreline. Just a stone's throw from the waters of Sturgeon Bay, its location is very private, yet remains convenient to the city. From the Chalet's large patio you will enjoy the early morning sunshine from the east and evenings
captivating colors lighting up the surrounding bay.
During your stay, you are steps away from discovering the natural beauty Door County has to offer. Besides The Chalet being water-front...it's
kitty-corner from public hiking and walking trails, less than 1 mile to Crossroads at Big Creek and travel a few miles in either direction to beaches and lighthouses. We encourage our guests to bring their bicycles and enjoy biking on our beautiful back roads and state park trails.
We think you're going to love the charm of our shore-side retreat and its truly unique hidden setting.
The Chalet~
The History~
The Chalet was built by my father-in- law, who spent his life working
as a shipbuilder in Sturgeon Bay. Much of the structure of the home is
built with wood from ships dating back to the building of
mine-sweepers after World War II.
His vision was to create a home that resembled the basic hull structure of a ship.
We've worked hard to update the home without losing its true character & hope you enjoy some of the vintage nautical pieces throughout the Chalet.
